Neurodiversity and the Sensory Friendly Classroom: How Sensory-Informed Educators Can Help All Children Learn Better

Teachers and school staff will learn the basics of neurodiversity and sensory processing, and how it affects self-regulation and learning. This session includes hands-on demonstrations and discussions to foster engagement and learning. Educators will leave with a Sensory Friendly Classroom Checklist to help them apply their learning by self-evaluating their classroom environment.

Foundation of Regulation: Supporting Toddlers (and their Parents!) Through Tough Times

Parents, caregivers, and educators learn how to support the “big feelings” of their toddlers and preschoolers. Participants will leave with the answer to the question, “What can I expect from my two-year-old?,” and “What can really be done about a ‘three-nager’?” Open-ended discussions help parents connect with others through the learning of new material.

Play to Learn: Early Development Through Sensory Exploration

Parents and caregivers will learn how to support their infants’ development through the senses. Hands-on material will be presented workshop-style, with curated developmental play opportunities for the little ones in attendance. Attendees will be provided with a “Take Home Activity” with written instructions to encourage facilitating sensory play at home.
