About Kira
Los Angeles-based pediatric occupational therapist Kira Bender, MS OTR/L, specializes in helping families learn to see their children through the sensory lens. Through her 10 years of experience in education and working with autistic youth, Kira has developed expertise in applying a strengths-based approach to working with clients of all ages and neurotypes, and empowering parents to see their children through a lens of self-regulation and sensory integration.
Kira currently offers disability accommodation consulting, educational speaking services, and collaborative content creation opportunities. She is a proud member of the team at Tina Payne Bryson’s Center for Connection and Neurodiversity, and works as a teaching assistant and guest lecturer at postgraduate occupational therapy programs.
Kira obtained her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from Boston University in 2015, where she contributed to professional research on self-advocacy for disabled youth and young adults. Kira is certified in DIR Floortime therapy and has training in yoga-based therapy.
